MRS. MARTHA “MAXINE” QUICK, AGE 93

Mrs. Martha “Maxine” Quick, age 93, of Robinson, Illinois, died Thursday November 28, 2013 at 6:55 am at Heritage Health Care (Cotillion Ridge) in Robinson, IL, following many months of failing health.

Born January 11, 1920 in Oblong Township, Crawford County, IL, she was the daughter of Charles Orville and Etta May (Batson) Alexander.  On December 7, 1944, she married Keith Isaac Quick and he preceded her in death in 1968.

Mrs. Quick graduated from Indiana Business College in 1940 and was an office machine specialist for Case Pottery; a retail clerk for The Palace Clothing Store; a secretary for the American Dairy; a billing clerk for Eastern Illinois Water Company and most of all a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great- grandmother and sister.

Maxine was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Robinson, IL and belonged to several Methodist Congregations over the years starting as a young woman at The Dogwood Methodist Church, Kirk Chapel Methodist Church and finally to First United Methodist in Robinson, IL, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women.  She also volunteered many hours as an Auxiliary (Pink Lady) at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, IL.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Phuong Quick, Robinson, IL; Mrs. Connie Carter, Robinson, IL; grandchildren, Keith and Kirtina Carter, Terre Haute, IN; Robert Quick,  Robinson, IL; Scott and Cathy Carter, Beloit, WI; Mike Carter, Beloit, WI along with a nephew, David Alexander, Danville, IL.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; a brother, Harold Alexander; a son-in-law, Gary Carter and a granddaughter, Michelle Carter.

Funeral service will be Monday December 2, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL, with Rev. Tiffany Black and Rev. Louis Youngs officiating.  Visitation will be Sunday December 1, 2013 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the Kirk Chapel Cemetery, Robinson, IL.

In memory of Mrs. Quick, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Robinson, IL, with envelopes available at the funeral home.

John and I were so sorry to here about your sweet mother, she was a dear lady who certainly enjoyed what we did in the LTC theatre. I missed seeing there.

Just saw your mothers obituary here on line. So Sorry to hear about her passing. I'm not sure how my mother knew her, but she did mention her once in a while. She wanted to see her at the Thanksgiving dinner at Cotillion Ridge, but couldn't get the wheelchair down the aisle.
