MARVIN C. RANDOLPH

Marvin C. Randolph, 68, of Charleston, Illinois passed away Tuesday July 9, 2013 at the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, Illinois.

Marvin was born in Robinson, Illinois on June 12, 1945 and was the son of Clyde and Etta “Lorene” (Perrine) Randolph. On December 2, 1972 he married Kathy Jean Westphal who survives. Marvin worked in food service at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois. Marvin was a member of the Oblong High School Class of 1963; Eastern Illinois University Class of 1993 and a member of the Phi Sigma Epsilon Fraternity. He loved nature, camping, wild life and he and Kathy traveled in their camper to 45 of the 50 United States and also travel in Canada. Marvin’s favorite sports team was the Chicago Bears.

Marvin is survived by his wife Kathy Randolph of Charleston, Illinois; two nephews George & Daphne Smith, Princeton, Indiana and Joe Jr. & Terri Smith, Sullivan, Illinois; a niece, Kathleen Smith, Oblong, Illinois; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; a brother-in-law Joe Smith, Oblong, Illinois.

Marvin was preceded in death were his parents; one brother Kent Randolph at age 15 and his sister Linda Sue Smith who passed in 2013.

There will be no visitation for Marvin but friends and family are asked to meet at Pulliam
Funeral Home, Oblong, Illinois at 3:30 p.m. Saturday July 13, 2013 to go in procession to a public grave side service at Prairie Cemetery north of Oblong. The family request casual dress only at the grave side service.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a contribution to the Salvation Army with
