MR. LEONARD J. BEACHY, AGE 16

Mr. Leonard J. Beachy, age 16, of Flat Rock, IL, died Saturday July 6, 2013 at 9:51 pm on Lincoln Highway, South of Charleston, Coles County, IL, of injuries after being struck from behind while riding a bicycle by a driver who fled the scene.

Born November 27, 1996 in Bourbon Township, Douglas County, IL, he was the son of Joseph Lynn and Ada (Yoder) Beachy.  Leonard was an apprentice cabinetmaker and carpenter at Peaceful Valley Cabinetry, Flat Rock, IL and attended Flat Rock Amish Brotherhood, Flat Rock, IL.

Survivors include his parents, Joseph and Ada Beachy, Flat Rock, IL; brothers and sister-in-law, Truman J. Beachy, Flat Rock, IL; William J. and Deborah Beachy, Flat Rock, IL; Jonathan J. Beachy, Flat Rock, IL; Ethan Lynn Beachy, Flat Rock, IL; Aaron Lynn Beachy, Flat Rock, IL; sisters, Lucy Beachy, Flat Rock, IL; Wilma Beachy, Flat Rock, IL; a niece Hadassah Rose Beachy, Flat Rock, IL; paternal grandparents, Eli J. and Martha Ferne Beachy, Arthur, IL and several aunts, uncles and cousins survive.

Preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents, Henry and Annie Yoder, Bethany, MO; and an aunt, Karen Yoder, Bethany, MO.

Funeral service will be Thursday July 11, 2013 at 9:00 am at the home of David Raber, 10510 E. 350th Avenue, Flat Rock, IL, with Bishop Vernon Raber officiating.  Visitation will be Wednesday July 10, 2013 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the David Raber residence.  Burial will be in the Flat Rock Amish Cemetery, Flat Rock, IL.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Flat Rock Amish Brotherhood c/o John Yoder, 531 North 1300th Street, Flat Rock, IL, with envelopes available at the Raber Residence, The Villas Country Store or from Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL.

I am so sorry for your lose. He was such a young man, never had a chance at life. God called him home and he's in a much better place than we are. You all are in my prayers.
