RONALD J. “RONNIE” GANGLOFF
Ronnie J. Gangloff, 77, Oblong, Illinois passed away at 1:56 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, Illinois.

Born in Ste. Marie, Illinois on June 17, 1935, he was the son of Charles J. “Charlie” Gangloff and Edna M. (Shryock) Gangloff. Ronnie graduated from Oblong High School ~ Class of 1953.

He retired in 1984 from the U. S. Navy where he served in the Submarine Corp. during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War; later he was an over the road truck driver. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Oblong, Illinois; Crawford County V. F. W. Post #4549 and Ste. Marie American Legion Post #932. Ronnie enjoyed working on cars and home remodeling.

Ronnie is survived by a son, Russell Lee Gangloff, Phoenix, Arizona; two brothers and a sister-in- law, Gaylord R. Gangloff, Mendon, Michigan and Lee Allen & Joetta Gangloff, Rio Rancho, New Mexico; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Angelita M. & Richard Seamon, Oblong, Illinois and Patricia A. Moore, Reno, Nevada and several nieces and nephews.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers, Charles F. “Buddy” Gangloff, Jack James Gangloff, Emanuel “Jim” Gangloff, Arthur Wayne Gangloff, Norman Lewis Gangloff and Ron’s twin brother, Donald Dean Gangloff.

A Celebration of Ronnie life will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013, at the Pulliam Funeral Home, Oblong, Illinois with Bro. Phil Boyd officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Saturday. Ronnie’s wish was to be cremated. Cremation rites have been accorded with burial in Ste. Marie Cemetery at a later date.

Military rites will be conducted by the Ste. Marie American Legion Post #932.

The family requests expressions of sympathy may take the form of a contribution to the
Crawford County V. F. W. Post #4549 or Ste. Marie American Legion with envelopes at or may be mailed to Pulliam Funeral Home, P.O. Box 121, Oblong, Illinois 62449.
