Michael E. “Mike” Stifle, age 66, of Robinson, IL, died Friday April 5, 2013 at his residence following years of battling diabetes.

Born July 27, 1946 in Robinson, IL, he was the son of Orville E. “Bones” and Helen May (McCormick) Stifle.  He was married to LaDonna (Hall) and she preceded him in death on March 15, 2004.  

Mike was a retired welder and pipefitter for Plumbers & Steamfitter’s Local 157; served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era; was a member of the VFW Post #4549, Robinson, IL; Reavill Post #132 American Legion, Flat Rock, IL and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Palestine, IL.

Survivors include a daughter, Melinda Skinner, Champaign, IL; two step-sons and spouses, James and Melissa Vest, Friendship, TX, Thomas Vest, Oblong, IL; three step-daughters and spouses, Ruth Hall, Salem, IN; Melissa and Rusty Howard, Robinson, IL; Christina Ernest, Robinson, IL; a brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Dee Stifle, Robinson, IL; sister, Rebecca “Becky” Stifle, Villa Grove, IL; three grandchildren, Katrisa Parks, Chicago, IL; Kelsee Skinner, Longview, IL; Austin Skinner, Longview, IL plus twelve step grandchildren; one great grandchild, Skyler Skinner, Chicago, IL plus two step great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.  Mike was preceded in death by his parents; wife, LaDonna and a son-in-law, David Skinner in 2011.

Funeral service will be Friday April 12, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL with Pastor Leland Culp officiating.  Visitation will be Thursday April 11, 2013 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the Eaton (Grand Prairie) Cemetery, rural Robinson, IL.

Memorial donations may be made to the Austin Skinner College Fund with envelopes available at the funeral home.
