Violet Eloise Helm

Eloise Helm, 89, Oblong, Illinois, went to be with her Lord on Friday March 29, 2013, at Heartland Nursing Center, Casey, Illinois and she will be reunited with loved ones that have gone on before.

Eloise was born in Crawford County, Indiana on October 21, 1923 to Luther Jones and Ilene (Benham) Jones. Eloise married Bernard Lee Helm in August 17, 1951, and he preceded her in death on December 5, 2003.

Eloise was a homemaker. She was a long time member of Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church in Oblong. She also enjoyed crocheting, making doilies, purses, making bread for many people and was a wonderful cook, especially known for her deep fried chicken. Most of all she loved her family.

Eloise is survived by two sons and daughters-in-laws Myron and Becky Helm and Wesley and Linda Helm both of Oblong, IL; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-laws Melvin Jones of Shelbyville, Indiana, Mervin and Mary Jones of Orleans, Indiana and Steve and Karen Jones of Brooksville, Florida; two sisters Rosemary Luff and Charlene Smith of Bloomington, Indiana; brother-in-law Bob Belcher of Brooksville, Florida as well as several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters Vera Deno and Naomi Belcher; a granddaughter Misty Helm and two brothers-in-laws Ferris Luff and Ralph Smith.

The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday April 2, 2012, at the Pulliam Funeral Home, 302 East Main Street, Oblong, Illinois with Rev. Paul Gray officiating. Burial will follow in the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. till time of service.
