MR. LELAN “EARL” BELL, AGE 95

Mr. Lelan “Earl” Bell, age 95, Robinson, Illinois, died Sunday March 31, 2013 at 12:30 AM at Cotillion Ridge Nursing Home, Robinson, Illinois, following several months of failing health.

Born February 28, 1918 in Bellair, Illinois, he was the son of Edson Glen and Bessie LaVada (Fouty) Bell.  On June 25, 1938 he married Sadie M. (Michael) and she preceded him in death December 21, 1990.  September 21, 1991 he married Juanita “Jean” Mefford and she survives.  He was retired as a Field Engineer for Hurletron Control Equipment for Printing Presses; a member of the Oak Ridge Methodist Church in Flat Rock, Illinois and was a Master Mason for over 50 years, AF & AM #250, Robinson, Illinois.

Survivors include his wife, J. Jean Bell, Robinson, Illinois; a son and daughter-in-law, Rodney Earl and Linda Bell, Lawrenceville, Georgia; two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Lee and Bernard Outcalt, New Haven, Indiana; Caroline S. and Philip Murray, Robinson, Illinois; sisters and brother-in-law, Catherine and Lyman Zellers, Sebring, Florida; Ila Mae Warren, Fairview Heights, Illinois; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Earl in death were his parents; his first wife, Sadie Bell and a sister Loma Haddock.  

Funeral Service will be Thursday April 4, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Oak Ridge Methodist Church, rural Flat Rock, Illinois with Fred White officiating.  Visitation will be Wednesday April 3, 2013 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, Illinois and on Thursday from 11:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM at the church.  Burial will be in Prairie Cemetery, Oblong Township, Crawford County, Illinois.

Memorial donations may be made to the Oak Ridge Methodist Church, rural Flat Rock, Illinois, with envelopes available at the funeral home.

Dear Jean,

So sorry to here of Earl's passing. I'll always remember him at the dances. He was always smiling and enjoying the evening. My prayers and thoughts are with you.
