Mr. Ralph Wendell Garrard, age 79, Robinson, Illinois, went to be with his Lord Friday January 28, 2011, 5:48 pm at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, following an apparent heart attack at his residence.

Ralph was born December 6, 1931 in Palestine, Illinois, the son of Henry E. and Versa (Harter) Garrard. On May 11, 1968 he married Margaret "Louise" (Wilson) and she survives. He was a retired Millwright and Welder, Evansville, Indiana and also worked at FairRite Incorporated, Flat Rock, Illinois for six years. Member Pleasant Ridge Christian Church, Lawrenceville, Illinois, Life member VFW Post #4549, Robinson, Illinois; Charter member AMVETS Post #33, Palestine, Illinois. Also served in the US. Army during the Korean War.

Other survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy Ann Wahman, Peoria, Illinois, Donna Rae & Dan Green Flat Rock, Illinois, Beverly J. & Charles Bledsoe, Robinson, Illinois, Cynthia DePew, Robinson, Illinois; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Becky Garrard Alsbaugh; a brother, Donald E. Garrard; a sister, Mary Louise Reynolds.

Funeral services are Wednesday February 2, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, Illinois with visitation from noon until 1:00 pm. Bro. Phillip Young and Bro. Bill Greenwood will be officiating. Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery, Robinson, Illinois. Military Graveside Rites performed by VFW Post #4549; E.M. Coulter Post #69 American Legion and AMVETS Post #33. Memorial contributions may be made to the Veteran's Transportation Fund, VFW Post #4549 with envelopes available at the funeral home.
