Mr. Roy W. Tracy, age 82, Bridgeport, Illinois, formerly of Oblong, Illinois, died Wednesday March 2, 2011 at 3:45 am at the Lawrence Community Health Care Center, Bridgeport, Illinois. He was born February 17, 1929, the son of George W. and Nellie M. (Quick) Tracy. On February 19, 1950 he married Mary Ellen Riker, and she survives.

He was the manager of the Arndt's Store, Newton, Illinois, for 15 ears, Tressler's Store, in Lawrenceville, Illinois and Vincennes, Indiana, Culligan Water Conditioning, Vincennes, Indiana and Lawrence County Memorial Hospital, Purchasing Department. Roy was in the U.S. Navy and served in WWII during Korea; member the First Baptist Church, Vincennes, Indiana; he was a member of the Jasper County School Board; Lawrenceville School Board Member; Boy Scouts; Sunday School Teacher & Choir Member for many years; volunteer for the Vincennes Senior Citizens for many years in the woodworking shop and enjoyed woodworking, garding and reading.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Tracy, Bridgeport, Illinois, daughter and son-in-law, Bev and Gary Reynolds, Evansville, WI, Bobbie Tracy, Hillsborough, NJ, Becky and Chuck Autsin, Lafayette, IN; six grandchildren, Nathan Reynolds, Carol Stream, IL, Tracy Reynolds, Woodridge, IL, Christine Reynolds, Evansville, WI, Megan Austin, lafayette, IN, Zachary Austin, Lafayette, IN, Oliva Austin Lafayette, IN; sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha Wampler, Robinson, IL, Juanita Stacko, Parma, OH; brother and sister-in-law, Randall and Amy Tracy, Minneapolis, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ralph Tracy; two sisters, Thelma Miller and Betty Roth.

Visitation will be Friday March 4, 2011 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Pulliam Funeral Home, Oblong, Illinois and at the First Baptist Church, Vincennes, Indiana the from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm (time of service) on Saturday. Funeral service will be Saturday March 5, 2011 at 3:00 pm, Indiana time with Pastor Dan Clemens officiating. Burial will be in the Shire Cemetery, rural Oblong, Illinois. Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund or Oblong Schools Academic Foundation with envelopes available at the funeral home.
