Life Legacy


Mr. Paul Eugene Perkins age 83, of Oblong, Illinois, died Wednesday March 2, 2011 at his residence, Oblong, Illinois. He was born September 11, 1927 in Oblong, Illinois, the son of Millard and Rachel (Weck) Perkins. On September 27, 1947 he married Wanda M. Miller and she preceded him in death on December 8, 2007. He was employed by Case/Briggs Manufacturing in Robinson, Illinois for 47 years; owner of Paul's Cue Club and Lunch Room, Oblong, Illinois for 25 years. Paul served in the W.S. navy during WWII. His hobbies included woodworking and playing pool.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Jeanne Perkins, Michigan City, Indiana; daughters and sons-in-law, Teena and David Devries, Oblong, Illinois, Penny and Ed Craig, Oblong, Illinois; four granddaughters, Jill Ridgley and John Foster, Newton, Illinois, Jamie and Chris Ochs, Willow Hill, Illinois, Mandy Sanders and Jason Littlejohn, Oblong, Illinois, Christen Sanders and Scott Dunlap, Oblong, Illinois; six great-grandchiildren, Levi Steinman, Oblong, Illinois, Peighton Arnone, Willow Hill, Illinois, Jadon Littlejohn, Oblong, Illinois, Kalin Littlejohn Oblong, Illinois, Xander Ochs, Willow Hill, Illinois, Lakin Littlejohn, Oblong, Illinois; four extended great-grandchildren, Christopher and Andrew Ochs, Oblong, Illinois, Scotty and Logan Dunlap, Palestine, Illinois and expecting great-granddaughter in April. Other survivors include a niece, Jackie Davis; three nephews, Larry Klim, Rick Perkins and Brad Perkins and extended Main Street Diner Friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one brother, Howard Perkins; two sisters, Marie Klim and infant sister, Mary Alice Perkins.

Visitation will be Friday March 11, 2011 from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Pulliam Funeral Home, Oblong, Illinois with a Memorial Service at 7:00 pm. Phil Boyd and Don Houdasheldt will be officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice or the Oblong Fireman's Toys for Tots, or the Oblong Food Pantry with envelopes available at the funeral home.
