Life Legacy


Mrs. Marilyn Joan Gust age 79, of the United Methodist Village, Lawrenceville, Illinois, formerly of Robinson, Illinois, died Wednesday April 27, 2011 at 2:25 am at the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital, Lawrenceville, Illinois, following several months of failing health.

She was born July 20, 1931 in West Union, Illinois, the daughter of William O. and Beulah (Routh) Dickey. On July 28, 1948 she married Keith M. Gust and he preceded her in death April 2, 2004. Marilyn received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Eastern Illinois University in 1974 and was a member of the Lawrenceville Church of Christ.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Karl and Claudette Gust, Elgin, Illinois; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Kevin Harris, Robinson, Illinois, Reva and Pat Williams, Redington Shores, Florida; grandchildren, Stephen Maddox, Kendra Harris, Kyle Harris, Brogan Gust and Chantel Gust; sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Wayne Strohm, Marshall, Illinois along with several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Keith; a brother, Richard Dickey and a sister, Kay Harman.

Funeral services will be Friday April 29, 2011 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of the United Methodist Village, Lawrenceville, Illinois with visitation from 1:00 pm until time of services at 3:00 pm. Rev. Carl Trump will be officiating. Interment of Cremated Remains will follow cremation in Palestine City Cemetery, Palestine, Illinois. Memorial donations may be made to the Resident's Activity Fund, United Methodist Village, 1616 Cedar Street, Lawrenceville, Illinois 62439.
