Life Legacy


Charles H. Kennedy, age 70, of Flat Rock, Illinois, died Thursday July 14, 2011 at the United Methodist Village, Lawrenceville, Illinois, following five years of battling Lewy Body Disease.

He was born March 23, 1941 in Robinson, Illinois, the son of Ralph Emerson and Mary Elizabeth (Clauss) Kennedy. On June 15, 1968, he married Linda S. (Wesley) Kennedy, and she survives. He was retired from the Marathon Oil Welding Shop, Illinois Refining Division, Robinson, Illinois; served in the US Army from 1963 to 1965; a member of the Oak Ridge Methodist Church, Flat Rock, Illinois; the American Legion Post #69, Robinson, Illinois; Hardinville Water Commission Board for 14 years and Honey Creek Township Trustee for 8 years.

Survivors include his wife, Linda S. Kennedy, Flat Rock, Illinois; daughter, Sarah LeAnne Kennedy, Flat Rock, Illinois; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Kathy Kennedy, Robinson, Illinois; several nieces and nephews, including Jon Kennedy, Jeff and Kim Kennedy, Amy Kennedy; three great-nieces and one great-nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents; his Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Wilbur and Dorothy Wesley.

Funeral services will be Sunday July 17, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, Illinois, with Bro. Bob McCarter officiating. Visitation Saturday July 16, 2011 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, Illinois. Burial will be in the Charlottesville Cemetery, rural Birds, Illinois. Memorial donations may be made to the Walk to End Alzheimer's Disease with envelopes available at the funeral home.
