Mrs. Alleta W. Hanks, age 85, of Benton, Arkansas, formerly of Robinson, Illinois, died unexpectedly Sunday August 7, 2011 at 12:15 pm at her residence of an apparent heart attack. She was born September 9, 1925 in Dahlgren, Illinois, the daughter of David Martin and Edna Wilhelmina (Geiger) Garrison. On July 5, 1945, she married Billie D. Hanks, and he preceded her in death April 28, 1997. Alleta co-owned and operated Hanks Amusement and Vending Company, Robinson, Illinois.

Survivors include a daughter and companion, Barbara Rieben and J.S. Frazier of Benton, Arkansas; a granddaughter, Tammy Jo Nelson, Kentucky, a great granddaughter, Katie Nelson, Kentucky; two step grandchildren, Mark Frazier, Oxnard, California, Jan and Todd Winters, Hornlake, Mississippi; two sisters and brother-in-law, Helen and Allen Sailer, Carmi, Illinois, Laura Katherine "Kate" Whipple, Belle Rive, Illinois; along with several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death, her parents; husband, Bille D. Hanks, April 28, 1997.

Funeral Service will be Thursday August 11, 2011 at 11:00 am at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, Illinois with visitation Thursday from 9:00 am until time of services at 11:00 am at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, Illinois. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Palestine, Illinois. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association either online thru our website or there will be envelopes available at the funeral home.
