Mrs. Phyllis Pleasant Gibson, age 85, of Ft. Worth Texas, formerly of Indianapolis, Indiana, Plainfield, Indiana, Houston, Texas and Hutsonville, Illinois, died Sunday December 11, 2011 at 10:00 am at the Stonegate Nursing Center, Hurst, Texas, following several years of failing health. She was born November 24, 1926 in Hutsonville, Illinois, the daughter of Earl L. and Ruby Pearl (Nash) Pleasant.

Mrs. Gibson was a feature writer for the Indianapolis Star Magazine; a Publisher for Curtis Publishing and the first female in Indianapolis to sit on the board of a major bank, Midwest National Bank. Phyllis graduated Hutsonville High School in May of 1945. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Lutheran Church and the Episcopal Church.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, William E. "Bill" Burrows, Aledo, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law, Lucinda L. (Holmes) Veeck Godsen and spouse Roger of Williamsburg, Virginia; Ann Lori(Burrows) Mills, Euclid, Ohio; four grandchildren, Alan Veeck, Jason Veeck, Kimberly Bowen, Susan Bush; and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother and sister-in-law, Max Nash and Mary Lou Pleasant.

Memorial Services are planned at a later date at the Hutsonville Cemetery, Hutsonville, Illinois. Honorariums may be made to the Charity of the Donor's Choice.
