Life Legacy


Mr. Richard L. "Dick" Mattix, age 81,of Robinson, Illinois, died Saturday March 3, 2012 at 11:48 pm at Cotillion Ridge Nursing Home, Robinson, Illinois, following several months of deteriorating health. Born May 24, 1930 in ElDorado, Kansas, the son of Simon Sirilous Mattix III and Effie Grace (Hedges) Mattix. On August 24, 1957 he married Laura "Joann" Inboden and she survives. He served in the US Airforce, Korea, from 1951 to 1955; was a member of the Trimble Bible Church, Trimble, Illinois. He was employed as an independent pastor at many area churches, including Pleasant Valley Community Church, Prairie Creed, Indiana for 24 years; Zion, Hardinville, Eureka and New Hebron churches for 4 1/2 years; Barnical Chapel Church, Steeleville, Missouri, 1 1/5 years. Graduated Calvary Bible College with a BA degree in 1961. Worked for Hershey Chocolate in Robinson, Illinois and Bunker Hill Supply in Hutsonville, Illinois.

He is survived by his wife Laura Joann Mattix, Robinson, Illinois; a son, Nathan Mattix, Livermore, California; a daughter and son-in-law, Rose Marie Agan, Robinson, Illinois; three grandchildren and spouses, Robert and Rebecca Agan, Pinkstaff, Illinois; Star and Shannon Anderson, Marion, Illinois; John and Stephanie Agan, Robinson, Illinois; two great grandsons, Bently and Keith Agan; sister-in-law, Violet Mattix, Great Bend, Kansas; three brother-in-laws, Kenneth Inboden, Robinson, Illinois, Richard and Em Inboden, Robinson, Illinois, Bob and Pat Inboden, Huffman, Texas.

Preceding him in death were his parents; five brothers, Beverly, Clinton, Robert, Marion and David; two sisters, Mary Polnicky and
Jenny Mikow.

Funeral services will be Wednesday March 7, 2012 at 10:30 am at Pullliam Funeral Home, Robinson, Illinois with Pastor David Hyde officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday March 6, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, Illinois. Burial will be in the Prier-Shire Cemetery, Stoy, Illinois. Memorial donations may be made to the Dayspring International Ministry or Samaritan's Purse with envelopes available at the funeral home.
