Life Legacy

Rev. Michael L. Kesling, age 65, of Robinson, Illinois, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday March 21, 2012 at 2:00 PM at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born March 6, 1947 in Middletown, Ohio, the son of William F. and Josephine (Clark) Kesling. On December 30, 1966 he married Anita E. Ramsey and she survives. Rev. Kesling was a minister for over 40 years, serving as minister to nine churches of the Nazarene faith and three United Methodist Charges for twenty one years. Was a member of the Robinson Free Methodist Church, Robinson, Illinois; Illinois Great Rivers Conference; former member of Robinson Kiwanis Club and Robinson Ministerial Alliance; while living in Strasburg, Illinois Mike served as Town Trustee for three years also a member of the Strasburg Lions Club; Mike loved playing the piano and violin, singing in the church choirs but most of all, serving others.

Survivors include his wife, Anita E. Kesling, Robinson, Illinois; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael L. and Sara Kesling II, Evansville, Indiana, Rayme W. and Amber Kesling, Beaumont, Texas; daughters, Zella "Cathy" Wood, Robinson, Illinois, Susan F. Turner, Oblong, Illinois; eight grandchildren, Michiala N. Turner, Oblong, Illinois, Allyson S. Turner, Oblong, Illinois, Joz-Lynn M. Popplewell/Kesling, Beaumont, Texas, Christopher R. Kesling, Beaumont, Texas, Michael J. Kesling, Beaumont, Texas, Daron and Rhona Turner, St. Joseph, Illinois, Derek and Jennifer Turner, Robinson, Illinois, Devin Turner, Robinson, Illinois; two sisters, Billie Jo Lewis, Lebanon, Ohio, Pamela Sue and Gerald Fornshell, Lebanon, Ohio and several nieces and nephews as well as Jason, Sammy, Isabella and Addison who were special to PAPA Mike. He was preceded in death by his parents.

There will be a Celebration of Life Ceremony Monday March 26, 2012 at 10:00 am at the Robinson Free United Methodist Church, Robinson, Illinois with Adams Conder, Duane Ambrose and Larry Hopkins officiating. Visitation will be Sunday March 25, 2012 from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at the Robinson Free Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Prairie Cemetery, rural Oblong, Illinois. Memorial donations may be made to the Dogwood-Prairie United Methodist Church, Oblong, Illinois; Strasburg United Methodist Church, Strasburg, Illinois; Sunfield United Methodist Church Building Fund, near Du Quoin, Illinois and Robinson Free Methodist Church, Robinson, Illinois.
