Life Legacy


Mrs. Wilma Jean "Jean" Newsome, age 87, of Robinson, Illinois, died peacefully at her residence in Robinson, Illinois on Tuesday May 22, 2012. She was born September 28, 1924 in Newton, Illinois, the daughter of William Dewey and Maime Leota (Bower) Allison. On April 14, 1942 she married H. Thomas Newsome and he preceded her in death January 26, 1990. Jean was employed in the Shipping and Billing Department of the Union Carbide Plant, Robinson, Illinois; member of the Highland Church of Christ, Robinson, Illinois; Crawford County Democrat Women; Boot Scooter Line Dancing, Robinson, Illinois; LTC Singing Seniors; American Legion Auxiliary, Robinson, Illinois and the VFW Auxiliary, Robinson, Illinois.

Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Vicki D. Lauder, Robinson, Illinois; Pam and Bill Rosborough, Hardinville, Illinois; grandchildren, Julie Brim, Jason Wolff, Amy and Mike Kosinski, Mike and LeeAnn Rosborough, David and Janette Rosborough, Jonathan Rosborough; seven great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Gloria (Franke) Allison, Portland, Oregon, Karen Allison, Kokomo, Indiana; long time friend and companion, Don Tohill, Robinson, Illinois and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, H. Thomas Newsome; son-in-law, Robert Wolff; brothers, Jim Allison, Paul Allison and sister, Marabel Neidblaski.

Funeral service will be Saturday May 26, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, Illinois with Rev. T.R. Akers officiating. Visitation will be Saturday May 26 from 11:00 AM until time of services at 1:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, Illinois. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude's Research Foundation with envelopes available at the funeral home.
