Biography

Mrs. Carolyn Sue Pruitt, age 70, of Sumner, Illinois, died Friday July 13, 2012 at the United Methodist Village, North Campus, Lawrenceville, Illinois, following a stroke last year. Born January 19, 1942 in Gallagher, West Virginia, she was the daughter of Lundy Franklin and Lula Agnes (Holcomb) Holcomb. On March 2, 1990 she married Paul R. "Sonny" Pruitt, and he survives.

Other survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. Jody K. and Jim Bedwell, Robinson, Illinois; Step-Daughters, Penny VanWinkle, Shelburn, Indiana; Robin VanWinkle, Mt. Carmel, Illinois; grandchildren, Zachary Salesman, San Antonio, Texas; Alex Midgett, Robinson, Illinois; step grandchildren, Ricky Baud; Christopher Lewsader; Michael Lewsader; Brandy Goodman; Daniel Bedwell; Adam Bedwell; ADrian (Bedwell) DeMoss; eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are brothers, Bud Holcomb, Cleveland, Ohio; Roger Holcomb, Robinson, Illinois; sisters, Belle Nottingham, Albany, New York; Mildred Gee, Cleveland, Ohio; Garnet Fitzwater, Clay, West Virginia; Eva Taylor, Elnora, Indiana and Brenda Judy, Oblong, Illinois.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a daughter, Kimberly Midgett; sisters, Margaret Brown and Faye Moore; brother-in-law, Ken Taylor.

Funeral arrangements are pending with Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, Illinois.
