MRS. DORIS L. STALEY, AGE 91

Doris Lea (Vanarsdalen) Staley, 91, was welcomed by her Lord and Savior on November 5, 2017 at 2:52 am at her home surrounded by her husband and loving family.  

Doris was born in Crawford County, IL on September 9, 1926 to Russell and Mae (Chapman) Vanarsdalen.  

She married Bruce D. Staley on October 26, 1946. She dedicated her life to her husband for 71 wonderful years, enjoyed raising and loving her sons and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She enjoyed gardening, baking and assisting on the family farm.  She was a member of Pleasant Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church.  Her Christian faith and witness influenced the many generations she touched.  Her sweet and loving nature will be missed by her family.  

She is survived by her husband, Bruce and five sons and their wives.  James and Marcia Staley (Marshall, IL), John and Karen Staley (West Union, IL), Don and Nora Staley (Annapolis, IL), David and Becky Staley (Martinsville, IL) and Steven and Victoria Staley (Martinsville, IL).  Her grandchildren Matt Staley (Bloomington, IN), Melissa Johnson (Martinsville, IL), Jonathon and Tina Staley (Annapolis, IL), Maria Staley (Lawrenceville, IL),Greg and Erica Staley (Robinson, IL), Kevin and Beckie Staley (Annapolis, IL), Amanda and Zach Hosselton (Casey, IL), Derek Staley (Martinsville, IL), Lisa Hege (Robinson, IL) and Ryan and Jennifer Staley (Casey, IL), her great-grandchildren Kali Richey, Grayson Johnson, Timothee Staley, Marleigh Staley, MaKayla Staley, John Austen Staley, Cierra Staley, Madison Staley, Dyllon Staley, Dawson Staley, Whitney Fuller, Kennady Fuller, Jordyn Hege, Blake Green, Ella Staley and Ruby Staley, one on the way and a great-great grandchild Evan Staley.  She is also survived by two sisters, Maxine Elliott and Barbara and Robert Pleasant; a sister-in-law, Marcia Vanarsdalen, (Annapolis, IL), and several nieces and nephews.  

Preceding her in death were her parents; a sister Geraldine Vanarsdalen and a brother Rondel Eugene Vanarsdalen.

The funeral service will be Wednesday November 8, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL with Brother Billie Ray Ulrey officiating.  Visitation will be Tuesday November 7, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL.  Burial will be in the Olive Branch Cemetery, rural Martinsville, IL.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children with envelopes available at the funeral home.

God Bless you Aunt Doris. Heaven has received another angel from our small family. So sorry that everyone's hearts are aching today but I now there will be a great Staley reunion in heaven again some day!!!!
